Job Description Manufacturing Engineer - NDT Full time Washington What you will be doing An exciting opportunity has arisen for a NDT Manufacturing Engineer to join the NDT team within Civil Aerospace Critical Part Manufacture function, based in Washington. As an NDT Manufacturing Engineer, you will control and develop NDT processes required to support production of components and ensure the engineering specifications are satisfied for new part introduction and ongoing manufacture. Responsibilities You will: Interpret design and engineering requirements and ensure shop applications remain in compliance. Approve process data cards/procedures, process or stage drawings and Methods of Manufacture both for domestically manufactured parts and for parts manufactured in the external supply network. Maintain operator training and qualification requirements for specific Special Processes including identification of changes to specification requirements that require subsequent operator training. Compile component specific Rationalised Quality Specifications (RQSC’s) and Quality Control Test procedures (QCTP’s) for Sensitive and Critical parts. Lead mixed teams to advance specific processes and/or resolve manufacturing problems. Act as a member of a Product Control Authority (PCA) for one of the onsite plants and/or the External supply Chain to approve method of manufacture changes on classified parts. Support the selection, justification, acquisition and commissioning of new processing equipment. Why Rolls-Royce? Level 2 OR Level 3 NDT certification in any of the following techniques: Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection, and Magnetic Particle Inspection. For current level 2: Degree qualified preferred or extensive experience at Level 2. Qualified to a degree level/equivalent in Materials Science, Metallurgy or an appropriate Engineering discipline. Working towards or have already achieved Chartered Engineer status (UK), or other national equivalent desirable. Good written and verbal communication skills. Data-driven approach to problem solving.
