Responsibilities:
1. Planned preventative maintenance (PPMs) routines on plant, equipment, building fabric, and services in line with manufacturers' recommendations and best practices.
2. Repairs and construction of timber fixtures and fittings, including first and second fixing for new and alteration work.
3. Painting as required.
4. Use of access equipment for carrying out minor repairs internally and externally to windows and roof lights.
5. Carry out minor repairs to fencing and gates.
6. Repair or replace locks, door closers, and door furniture of all kinds; cut keys if possible; work on automatic doors.
7. Fit or replace laminates and Formica materials to fixtures and fittings.
8. Repair all types of timber flooring.
9. Minor repairs of blinds and fixing of curtain tracks and similar fixtures and fittings, coat hooks, shelving, notice boards, etc.
10. Erection and dismantling of trestles, hop-ups, staging, ladders, and step ladders (providing training has been completed).
11. Deal with incidents such as damaged fire doors, lost keys, departmental and controlled drugs cupboards, and broken glass to doors and windows.
12. Carry out defective item maintenance on the carpentry building fabric internally and externally in line with best practices and health and safety.
13. Carry out tasks as instructed/requested with a minimum of supervision.
14. Carry out refurbishment and/or new works as required and directed by the Team Leader.
15. Advise the Team Leader of health and safety/maintenance issues that may affect the safe operation of the building fabric and clinical services.
16. Attend training courses as appropriate for the post, including Health & Safety requirements.
17. Develop and maintain good working relationships with Clinicians, Departmental Heads, Risk Management, and Contractors.
