We are excited to announce a pivotal role at the Stoneygate Centre for Empathic Healthcare. Directed by Professor Jeremy Howick and part of the Leicester Medical School, led by Professor Simon Gay, our Centre is dynamic and expanding. As a Postdoctoral Research Fellow, you will design, deliver, and ensure the quality of research in medical education, focusing on empathic healthcare. Depending on the candidate’s skills and experience you will be successful as a either a Grade 7 or a Grade 8 Research Fellow. As a Grade 7 you will contribute whereas a Grade 8 will lead high-quality research, secure external funding, and oversee data governance. Your work will be disseminated at national and international conferences, contributing significantly to the field. You will also mentor PhD students and junior researchers, engaging in activities that support your professional development and public engagement. This role offers a supportive, inclusive environment that values diversity and fosters innovation. About you We seek a highly motivated individual with a PhD or significant equivalent experience in a relevant discipline. For the Grade 7 position, you will have an emerging track record of delivering research projects on time and are nationally/internationally respected in your field. For the Grade 8 position you will have a proven track record of the same abilities. You will possess experience in developing research models and methods, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Experience in securing research funding and managing budgets is essential if you are expecting to be appointed at Grade 8. Desirable qualities include experience in project management, empathy research, and advanced analytical techniques.
