Applications are invited for the post of Casework Officer based in the Human Resources Department.
As part of the Employee Relations and Business Partnering team, the postholder will manage a diverse portfolio of HR cases across academic and professional services areas. This will include disciplinary, capability, grievance, and absence management cases. Working collaboratively with HR Business Partners, the postholder will ensure cases are managed effectively in line with University policies and employment law.
Key responsibilities include:
Advising managers on HR case management at both informal and formal stages.
Managing and coordinating casework with autonomy.
Supporting investigations, providing administrative assistance, and guiding Investigating Managers.
Delivering training courses and coaching managers on HR policies.
Liaising with trade unions and other employee representatives.
Reporting on casework progress and maintaining accurate records.
Skills and Experience:
The successful candidate will have:
A-Level education or equivalent (CIPD Level 7 is desirable).
Up-to-date knowledge of employment law and HR practices.
Demonstrable HR delivery experience in a large, complex organization.
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
Experience in managing casework, supporting investigations, and working with trade unions.
