An opportunity has arisen for a Facilities Assistant with a small, friendly insurance company based in central Bristol.
About the company
Our client is a mutual insurer (owned by their customers/members) and they have been helping people deal with life’s uncertainties for over 150 years. The Society are proud of their heritage and are forward thinking and excited about the future. They are at another exciting point in their development, with plans to expand and new products being launched.
They have around 80 people who, when not working from home, are based on one site in an attractive part of central Bristol near the harbourside – 10 mins walk from Bristol Temple Meads train station. Their offices have just been refurbished with a kitchen, TV and seating area and an open plan working with meeting rooms.
About the role
As Facilities Assistant, your duties will include:
1. Dealing with post and other deliveries
2. Printing, scanning, archiving and other document management
3. Greeting visitors and managing security passes / access
4. Replenishing paper and toner for printers
5. Ordering stationery and other office items
6. Core H&S duties including fire safety, pat testing, workstation assessments and accident reporting
There will be other duties in addition, which may vary from time to time.
About you
Ideally you will have some experience in a broadly similar role in an office environment, but our clients are open to applicants who can demonstrate the following:
1. Good administrative and organisation skills
2. A reasonable level of English and Maths (reasonable GCSE level passes/ equivalent)
3. Good communication skills – verbal and written
4. Core IT skills/literacy (Word, Outlook, basic Excel etc.)
5. The ability to work relatively unsupervised and to use initiative
You will also need to be reliable, diligent and helpful. Please be aware that the role of Facilities Assistant will involve a small amounts of lifting / physical work and activity. As a regulated business any successful candidate will also need to undergo identity, financial and criminal records checking.
About the hours & rewards
The hours of work are 9 to 5, Monday to Friday, 35 hours a week and as this is an on-site role, there is no option for remote working.
For the role of Facilities Assistant, there is on offer:
1. A salary in the range of £22,000 to £24,000 per annum
2. A pension contribution of up to 12%
3. Private medical insurance (on completion of probation)
