Application Engineer (Focusing on Customer Interaction, Demos, and Content Development)

About our client: Our client is a mobile security development company, based in Edinburgh.
About the Role: We are seeking a motivated, customer-focused individual to join our client's team. This role will assist in the integration of our client's mobile security solutions into customer applications; collaborating with the product team to test and implement new features, providing technical support to customers, and maintaining SDK and API documentation. This role will support the sales and marketing function, providing technical expertise during meetings and product demonstrations, and acting as a technical advocate for our client; writing technical blogs, developing product guides and tutorials, and contributing to social media content and community events.
Responsibilities:
* Customer Interaction & Demos: Support customer meetings, respond to technical questions, and assist in product demonstrations, explaining the benefits of our client's mobile security solutions in easy-to-understand terms. Help clients adopt and integrate those solutions into their applications.
* Content Development & Writing: Write technical blogs, case studies, and tutorials that highlight the real-world applications of our client's solutions. Develop educational content (e.g., webinars, whitepapers, and how-to guides) that communicates complex concepts in an accessible and engaging way.
* Collaboration with Sales & Marketing Teams: Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to provide technical expertise and support during product demonstrations, marketing campaigns, and customer outreach.
* Technical Support & Integration Assistance: Assist in the integration of our client's solutions into customer applications and provide troubleshooting support. Collaborate with the product and engineering teams to test and implement new features and improve documentation for easier customer adoption.
* Learning & Personal Growth: Engage in continuous learning around mobile security, API integration, and other technologies to expand your skillset while contributing to a growing and innovative company.
Qualifications:
* A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
* Experience/and understanding of mobile application development (iOS, Android) and/or API integrations is beneficial but not the primary focus for this role. The emphasis of the role is on customer-facing responsibilities such as demos, troubleshooting, and communication.
* Basic knowledge of security concepts like authentication, encryption, and secure communication protocols is helpful.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly the ability to explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience and create content like blogs, tutorials, and case studies.
* Proficiency with common development languages (any of C#, Java, Kotlin, Swift, TypeScript) is beneficial.
* Experience working in a customer-facing role (sales, customer support, or technical demonstrations) is a positive.
