Jointer The Role We are recruiting Jointers who will carry out the installation of high quality jointing services safely and within the programmed timescale whilst adhering to the Jointers instructions, ITPs, relevant procedures and best environmental practice. The ideal candidates will have experience of jointing cables from various manufacturers using their termination kits. Experience of working on construction sites is essential along with a proven attention to detail and an ability to demonstrate good oral and written communication skills. We are looking for team players with a confident and enthusiastic attitude. The successful candidates will have relevant experience as EHV Jointer within the HV and EHV cable installation sector along with relevant experience at Jointer level. You will also need at least one major utility company or cable manufacturer Jointing qualification. Specific responsibilities include the following but are not intended to be exclusive or exhaustive: To carry out HV and EHV cable jointing and terminations on systems between 33kV and 400kV. To carry out earthing and cable installations Take lead on Installation projects, reporting to Site Manager and/or Project Manager Mentor and coach less experienced staff and apprentices in developing their knowledge Assist with site breakdowns and investigative procedures and fault-finding. Complete all reports as requested, including but not limited to: Test Sheets and Results, Quality Assurance reports, HSE reports and all other operational reports/checksheets required, e.g. Daily Allocation, Daily Briefings of Jointing Team etc. Contribute to RAMS production Undertake daily risk assessments and taking action if required including the Point of Work Risk Assessment (POWRA) The work environment Although the companys headquarters are based in St Helens, our project teams work throughout mainland UK and from Shetland to the Channel Islands, so we are flexible and want to hear from candidates from anywhere in the UK.
