Your Role:
As a Behaviour Support Mentor, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting children with special educational needs, helping them to succeed and thrive in their learning environment. Working closely with the Class Teacher and Senior Leaders, you will:
* Provide tailored support to students with a range of needs, including Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and communication difficulties.
* Help create a safe, structured, and engaging classroom atmosphere where every child feels respected and valued.
* Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs, ensuring all students have the opportunity to shine.
* Take an active role in early intervention strategies, using tools like PECS or Makaton to enhance communication where needed.
What We’re Looking For:
✔️ Previous experience working with children with SEND, particularly in communication and behaviour support.
✔️ A team player with a genuine commitment to collaboration and shared success.
✔️ Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
✔️ A creative and adaptable approach to tailor learning tasks to suit individual needs.
✔️ A passion for professional growth and ongoing learning.
Bonus: Experience with PECS, Makaton, or early intervention strategies will set you apart!
