We are looking for a Head of Logistics demonstrating a minimum of 5 years proven warehouse management exposure. Reporting into the Managing Director, the successful candidate should be able to demonstrate end to end project management capability combined with an analytical and methodical approach to workplace planning and operational performance metrics. In addition, strong team leadership is expected as you take responsibility for a team of 40 colleagues, including 5 supervisors and 4 team leaders. Resource and skills planning, effective communication and flexible change management is essential to manage your team to maximize productivity and efficiency within the department. In addition, establishing effective commercial relationships with both our Senior Management Team and external stakeholders is critical for business effectiveness and individual success. As part of an entrepreneurial business, we operate within a fast-paced environment that requires any individual within our leadership team to be able to react and adapt to change, and more importantly remain close to your area of expertise, understanding core processes well enough to be able to have a hands-on approach when needed as well as an holistic view for strategic purposes. With a proactive mindset, you will collaborate with your peers offering operational solutions to the commercial challenges we face.
The headline objectives for the role are:
Managing and maintaining costs based on departmental budgets and business performance.
Operating within internal and external SLAs to ensure required service levels are being maintained consistently.
Managing appropriate staffing levels, training, and skills to operate efficiently.
Analysing and minimising warehouse errors and costs to the business caused by operational issues.
Monitoring any required maintenance work and reviews ensuring the business operates in a cost-effective manner.
Effectively managing couriers and warehousing contracts, ensuring reviews are conducted periodically and providing appropriate reporting to Board level.
Providing continuous visibility to the wider business of logistics state of play via key reporting.
Effectively communicating with key stakeholders and managing queries, issues, investigations, and projects as they arise.
