The Opportunity: Avantor is seeking an Internal Sales Specialist to drive the success of our Lab Consumables portfolio. This role focuses on generating quotes, increasing revenue and profitability, and providing essential support to the field-based Business Development and Account Management teams. The position plays a key part in achieving sales and margin targets for the VWR UK Lab Consumables business. The team The successful Internal Sales Specialist will join a collaborative team of five, focusing on managing quotations, offering technical support, sourcing products, qualifying customer inquiries, and resolving pricing, lead time, and delivery-related challenges efficiently within tight timelines. What we’re looking for Education: A bachelor’s degree within a scientific discipline is highly desirable but not essential Experience: previous experience in B2B sales is highly desirable but not essential Good product knowledge, ability to learn quickly and maintain updated knowledge of products and market Strong negotiation skills Strong commercial understanding and knowledge of the market, the competition within and pricing and discount structures Strong analytical and conceptual skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Work independently with limited supervision to identify key insights IT Literate, proficient in the use of SAP, C4C, QlikView, and MS Office applications How you will thrive and create an impact Proactive Selling and Cross-Selling Drive proactive sales across product ranges, including identifying opportunities for cross-selling complementary products and services. Technical Support Provide comprehensive technical product support to both customers and VWR colleagues. Quotations Management Create, negotiate, and follow up on quotations to ensure customer satisfaction and successful transactions. Product Sourcing and Workflow Management Source new products and oversee the market sourcing/TPP workflow to align with business objectives. Tender Participation Participate in tenders and manage large product lists for quotations, meeting technical requirements effectively. Supplier Relations Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to secure optimal technical and price support for VWR products. Sales Reporting Provide regular updates to the Manager on sales activities, challenges, and achievements. Sample Management Send product samples as requested by customers or as part of quotations and tenders processes. Demo Product Oversight Order, register, and manage demo products in compliance with the demo unit management process. Marketing Materials Distribution Distribute catalogues, brochures, and promotions, and manage these activities through the C4C system. Cross-Regional Collaboration Liaise with local, regional, and European counterparts within the Lab Consumables business teams and marketing teams for seamless coordination. Supplier Training and Meetings Actively participate in supplier training sessions and meetings to stay updated on products and industry standards. Ready for a challenge?
