As Commercial Gas Engineer you will report into our Service Manager for UK & Ireland and your role is to provide technical support to our customers following installation of new and aftermarket equipment, by supporting with troubleshooting and repairs throughout the life cycle of the equipment. Location can be anywhere in England but we would like someone based in and around the Midlands covering South, Central and South West however, international travel will also be required from time to time. On a given day, you may:
* Once trained you will work independently, dealing with mechanical and/or electrical issues which need to be explained to our customers in writing and verbally communicated.
* When called out to service a customer's machine or diagnose any problems with the equipment onsite, you will make repairs such as - adjustments, part replacements, timing and synchronisation of mechanisms. These may be electrical, mechanical, pneumatics and/or gas. Following the call out a service and inspection report must be submitted.
* You will conduct service calls and then follow up on actions required ensuring that any delays are brought to our customer and management attention quickly to avoid delays and keep to budget.
* Liaise with the Project Managers relating to the service orders, communicating with customers any problems or complications with equipment, whilst providing advice and support. Making suggestions and recommendations for improvements, modifications and for maintaining the equipment.
* You will help train customer technical support staff, on operation, sanitation and maintenance best practices for our machinery.
* A crucial part of your role will be to promote JBT services, service agreements and OEM parts for ensuring correct equipment operation and generating new and aftermarket sales.
Gas certification is necessary, the minimum requirements for a Commercial Engineer are COCN1, CIGA1 and CDGA1 - if you come from a Domestic background, we look for CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1, HTR1, MET1 and CPA1
* HND qualification or equivalent apprenticeship experience in a similar technical discipline, we look for a combo of light electrical and good mechanical skills
* Experience maintaining factory production equipment is not essential, but expose to this would be beneficial coupled with a working knowledge of PLC systems
* Experience with forced draft package burners desirable - The types of burners we use are Weishaupt and Riello
