Based within the Housing Locality team, you will be operationally responsible for assisting the Housing Service Manager in service provision and advice to a wide client group including tenants from local authorities, Registered Social Landlords, and homeowners in relation to estate management, rent arrears prevention and recovery, dealing with anti-social behaviour, homelessness and allocations enquiries, and related administrative functions within your area of work. You will also be operationally responsible for the regulated service of housing support, older persons housing, and temporary accommodation. You will also deputise for the Housing Service Manager as required.
Minimum Requirements:
1. CIH Level 4 Diploma in Housing Studies or educated to SVQ level 3 / HNC / equivalent in a relevant discipline with extended experience, which includes the management/monitoring of budgets, is essential.
2. Experience of staff supervision, managing and reviewing performance to achieve agreed objectives, managing employees and processes, as well as experience of service development are also essential.
3. You must have a sound knowledge of housing-related legislation together with experience and knowledge of resident consultation and promoting resident and community activities.
4. IT and report writing skills are also essential for this post.
You will require to be registered or eligible for registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
You will be required to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG) member prior to starting within this post.
It is a requirement of the post that you participate in the Out of Hours Homeless Standby Service Escalation Officer roster during evenings and weekends. Payments for periods of Standby will be made in accordance with the SJC Salaries Agreement.
