THE ROLE
Construction litigation lawyer to join a team which advises on all aspects of construction law and contracts for a wide range of clients.
Their particular focus is large disputes for EPC contractors on international projects, primarily in the fields of transport, energy, infrastructure, and offshore/marine construction.
The London team works closely with the construction teams in the other offices, particularly those in the Middle East, Hong Kong, and Australia. It is the principal hub for undertaking international disputes.
The international nature of the work is recognized and commented upon by the directories which rank them highly.
Whilst the team does undertake domestic UK work, they handle relatively few small, domestic cases.
Most of the UK work has been on complex engineering projects; in particular, offshore wind farm projects and waste-to-energy.
THE CANDIDATE
Experience in undertaking large-scale, ideally international construction projects within a City, regional, or boutique firm environment;
3-6 pqe; England & Wales qualified or qualified in an overseas jurisdiction with relevant work experience;
Strong academics (minimum of a 2:1 at first degree level);
Bright individual with excellent analytical skills;
Excellent drafting skills in relation to both advice and contractual documentation;
