Outdoor Programme Leader at Venture Scotland
Venture Scotland offers progressive, outdoor-based personal development programmes. The programmes empower young people aged 16-30, and older participants, who face complex and difficult challenges in their lives and want help to change.
We focus on our participants’ physical, mental and emotional wellbeing, helping them to make profound, positive and lasting changes in their lives.
We are seeking an Outdoor Programme Leader, who identifies with our values of Trust, Respect, Compassion, Belonging and Empowering, to deliver our 12-week-long, outdoor-based programme called ’Venture On To Recovery’ – working with groups of up to 10 participants who are in recovery from substance use (aged 18-65). This includes delivering outdoor activities and residentials and providing in-depth and structured social and emotional learning opportunities for individuals. We welcome applications from diverse communities.
At times, you will also be required to support other team members to deliver our young people’s programme and to deliver presentations, ice breakers and outdoor activities to external groups. There may be an opportunity in the future to lead on our young people’s programme in Glasgow subject to funding.
The job will also involve reviewing our programme with participants, evaluation, supporting and developing volunteers, managing logistics and ensuring the highest standards of safety.
Do you want to work in a supportive team of people, who really care about the people we are helping? Do you want to work in an organisation who listens, values everyone’s views and cares about the health and wellbeing of their staff? Do you understand the transformative effect of the outdoors? Are you passionate about #ChangingLivesOutdoors?
