The Police & Crime Commissioner for Hertfordshire is seeking a creative and forward-thinking Interim Chief Executive to help drive forward his work. The PCC is responsible for securing an effective and efficient police force, setting the Police & Crime Plan and being the public’s voice in policing. To be successful, you will need to be politically astute, strategically influential and a strong leader. You will use your executive/director level experience to support the PCC at a strategic level, translating vision into action with a focus on achieving outcomes. You will act as the PCC's principal advisor, so that he can fulfil his mission and statutory duties and engage effectively with stakeholders and the public. As a visible leader, you will have experience of motivating, enthusing and creating organisational energy to help teams flourish to deliver. Experience of leading change and transformation programmes, and developing new ways of thinking, will be essential. Exposure to operating in similar challenging settings will be important, as will the personal integrity, honesty and skills required to advise the Commissioner on associated legal frameworks, emerging legislation, and to contribute to national policy developments and consultations. This position is an interim role for a 12 month fixed term contract.
