Reed Public Sector is seeking a highly skilled and experienced interim Principal Lawyer to lead and manage the Local Authority client's corporate Commercial Team. This is an exciting opportunity for a legal professional with a strong background in contract and procurement law, and a proven track record in managing a team of lawyers and paralegals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide expert legal advice on contract and procurement law.
2. Manage and supervise a team of lawyers and paralegals.
3. Ensure compliance with public sector frameworks.
4. Handle commercial contracts, procurement, information management, IT, technology, construction, intellectual property, public law, and grant agreements.
5. Advise on JCT & NEC contracts.
6. Sit and advise on various boards within the Council.
7. (Desirable) Provide expertise in Company Law.
Qualifications:
1. Current practising certificate and entitlement to practice in England as a Solicitor, Barrister, or Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives.
2. Post qualification experience in contract and procurement rules and regulations.
3. Ability to work to tight deadlines and perform well under pressure.
4. Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
