Manager, IT Retail Application Ops
The Shared and Regional Services team within IT Management are looking for a managerial lead for Local Support Desk (LSD) function providing 1st level support and application access for BMW Group Retailers and 1st level application support for Internal Users as well as providing key local interface to centrally provided 1st level services.
What awaits you?
* Manage a process driven support team based in South Africa. This will require the role to develop into the main knowledge holder (SME), enabling support for all aspects of the service delivery.
* Define, optimise, monitor and report on Service Level Agreements with supplier and operational support partners, to ensure that the committed service is adhered to.
* Carry out level 1 – level 1.5 service desk delivery tasks through use of external partners and co-ordination with central IT departments.
* Motivate, lead and co-ordinate both on-site and remote resource for LSD.
* Negotiate with delivery partners / purchasing / central support departments / Senior Management to ensure commitments are met and process improvements delivered.
* Verify that changes and new systems are implemented in accordance with BMW Group IAM & Compliance guidelines.
* Support Internal and external audits.
* Rollout / Implement new application or technical release management activities on behalf of the business and IT departments, ensuring minimal disruption to the Retailer community.
* Implementing BMW Group IT standards and ensuring that local business needs are supported, understood and incorporated in to support models.
What should you bring along?
* University degree, or relevant education/experience (i.e. studies in IT, computing). Good English and Maths.
* Demonstratable experience in Operational management and Leadership.
* ITIL training / certification.
* Good understanding of data protection and the impact of legislation and regulation on IT solution delivery.
* Excellent interpersonal skills – ability to communicate at all levels of the business.
* Conceptual – understand the purpose of controls or regulations and not just the implementation.
* A desire to want to support and assist teams and individuals.
* Be able to motivate, lead, co-ordinate both on-site and remotely.
