The role
The team undertake the management of Farms and Rural Estates and offer a range of professional rural advice. Their technical excellence ensures an impressive client base, and they advise on some of the most prestigious clients in the area. The role will be a blend of Farm and Estate Management and professional working within a team.
1. Acting as principal agent for a selection of key farm and estate management clients
2. Financial management of client’s businesses
3. Managing farm/estate staff and contractors
4. Undertaking estate and farming business reviews
5. Identifying opportunities for appropriate diversification
6. Understanding, interpreting and communicating effects of the key rural policies
7. Supporting the directors in winning new work to increase turnover and continue the growth of the department
Person specification
Qualifications/Key Skills
1. Educated to relevant degree level
2. Professionally qualified MRICS or alternative agricultural qualification
3. Experience in a consultancy and/or management role
Experience & Skills
1. Demonstrate team leadership potential, capable of building relationships with existing and new clients and generating new opportunities.
2. Able to take the initiative and to problem solve to achieve the best outcome for the client
3. Commercially aware and ambitious – able to identify and act on opportunities to generate and then deliver new work in a timely manner
4. Technical excellence in key areas of farm and estate management
5. Sound knowledge of farming and environmental subsidy and grant schemes
6. The ability to think strategically and advise accordingly in respect of client’s businesses
7. Good time management and ability to prioritise workloads
8. Excellent IT skills
9. Excellent research and analytical skills
10. Accuracy and attention to detail
