This major UK and international law firm has an excellent new opportunity for an ambitious Associate to join their busy and thriving Energy & Infrastructure practice in Riyadh. Their highly rated team advises developers and public institutions on innovative, complex projects, which are frequently in the headlines. The Riyadh team essentially works on large-scale energy and infrastructure projects across the MENA region; main clients are governments and developers (as well as funds, financial institutions, and energy & utility companies); with the team focusing on project structuring, financing, development and implementation, whilst also advising regional governments on project procurement. The group work closely with external advisors (financial and technical) and often with colleagues in both Construction and Finance (based in Riyadh and Dubai) to better support projects through the entire life cycle. Due to ambitious growth plans, they are seeking an Associate to join and help service their growing roster of major energy, utilities and natural resources clients. To succeed in this role, you'll need to have strong technical legal skills, ideally gained within multi-jurisdictional environments, with experience in managing/supporting multifaceted projects that often have a transformative effect on countries and people (i.e. renewable energy, water, and other infrastructure). Applicants should also ideally be UK or Commonwealth qualified lawyers, with experience gained in a major law firm with an established energy and/or infrastructure reputation; MENA region experience and Arabic language skills would also be beneficial although are not essential.
