About the Role
Our client is seeking a hands-on and strategic Supply Chain Manager to join their growing metal manufacturing business as they navigate an increasingly regulated market. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and people-focused professional to drive supply chain efficiency, strengthen vendor relationships, and support the business's long-term growth.
You will work closely with the Finance Director, oversee a team of two buyers, and play a key role in shaping procurement strategy while staying deeply involved in day-to-day operations. They are looking for someone with 1-3 years of management experience, eager to develop both their team and their own industry expertise.
Key Responsibilities
1. Vendor & Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring cost-effectiveness, reliability, and compliance with industry regulations.
2. Strategic Procurement: Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with business goals and regulatory requirements.
3. Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and upskill a team of two buyers, fostering a high-performing procurement team.
4. Operational Excellence: Take a hands-on approach to day-to-day supply chain operations, identifying efficiencies and process improvements.
5. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure procurement processes meet strict industry regulations, working closely with internal teams to uphold standards.
6. Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with the Finance Director and other key stakeholders to drive cost control and improve supply chain performance.
7. Market & Industry Insight: Stay informed about industry trends, technical advancements, and regulatory changes to position the business for success.
