Position Summary: As a Production Scientist focusing on the Agar Scientific range of products, you will be responsible for the day-to-day manufacture of a wide range of items related to the fields of microscopy, electron microscopy and cryo-electron microscopy. These may include microscopy grids, coated surfaces, chemicals and calibration standards, resins, stains and dyes, filaments, apertures and support films. Your main goals will be to ensure a high standard of quality, efficiency, reproducibility and productivity across the manufacturing process. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. · Perform manufacturing of all Agar Scientific items within a laboratory environment. · Be part of a multi-functional team able to produce products across all forms of microscopy. · Document all production processes and perform all manufacturing information management. · Quality control of all manufactured products. Monitor and check results and product output continually. · Trouble shoot manufacturing and production issues and implement corrective actions. · Develop and validate new production methods to enhance product quality and yield. · Plan and resource for several weeks in advance to ensure continuous product supply to Customers. · Training and support of other team members and provide support across the business. · Prepare and review Standard Operating Procedures to ensure work is performed to a defined standard. · Prepare risk and health and safety assessments for all laboratory activities. · Contribute towards general laboratory upkeep, routine equipment maintenance and resource monitoring. · Perform other laboratory and related duties at the request of the Lead Production Scientist. Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in Chemistry is preferred, or a degree in a science related field is suitable.
