Job overview
The successful candidate will work in a range of settings including clients' homes and local communities, as well as providing support to clients in residential and nursing care settings. You will manage a caseload of clients with complex Occupational Therapy needs, undertaking specialist assessments to develop meaningful, individualised, and person-centred care plans.
Main duties of the job
1. Deliver evidence-based Occupational Therapy interventions.
2. Provide compassionate care based on empathy, kindness, respect, and dignity.
3. Act as identified deputy in the absence of the Clinical Lead.
4. Provide clinical supervision and leadership to staff as delegated by the Clinical Lead.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a flexible and innovative Specialist Occupational Therapist to join our Northumberland Older Adult Community Treatment Teams, Behaviour support service, and Northumberland Memory Service.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The post will be based at Ashmore House in Ashington, with a requirement to work into our Hexham office 2 days per week. The Occupational Therapy service is county-wide, covering south, central, and north of Northumberland.
Person specification
Education and Qualification
* Recognised Occupational therapy degree/qualification
* HCPC Registration
* Evidence of post-registration training in OT interventions relevant to the post.
Knowledge and Experience
* Awareness and understanding of professional accountability, HCPC and RCOT standards.
* Proven track record of post-registration clinical experience relevant to the post.
* Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team.
* Experience of providing Occupational Therapy services.
Skills and Competencies
* Proven ability to carry out and provide comprehensive written assessments of individuals with complex needs.
* Risk Assessment and Risk Management/Safety Planning skills.
* Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills.
