Salary: Support Staff Pay Scale D: £13,184 to £13,393 pro-rata per annum (Actual) (£24,790 - £25,183 full time/full year equivalent)
Part Time: hours per week / 3 days (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday)
Working Weeks: Term Time plus 1 week (39 weeks)
East Point Academy is looking for an enthusiastic, organised, and reliable technology technician with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to join our department. If you are enthusiastic about technology and enjoy inspiring others, this is a wonderful opportunity to use your skills and develop your experience within a friendly team.
As well as providing general support to the faculty, you will assist in lessons and must therefore be able to relate well to both staff and students. You will be well-organised and a team player with the ability to work independently. This role may also be suitable for recent higher or further education graduates, as well as more experienced candidates. Candidates must have experience in working with resistant materials and the associated tools and equipment used for manufacturing products out of wood, metal or plastics. A background in Design is an asset as well as a willingness to learn how to operate the laser cutter and other CNC equipment.

The main responsibility of this role will be:
1. To provide technical support to teaching staff.
2. Under the overall direction and control of the Curriculum Lead and in accordance with the procedure of the schoolwork with teaching staff to support the teaching and learning in the department by ensuring the effective preparation, maintenance and storage of tools, materials, equipment, furniture and undertake learning activities with students and teachers.
3. Undertakes activities in all areas of the faculty.
The ideal candidate will have:

5. Experience and understanding of working with students of Secondary age (11-18 years)
6. Understanding classroom roles and responsibilities and own position within these
