About the role
Shift Leader Rate of Pay: Starts from £14.28 an hour; increases to £15.41 for stores inside the M25. Additional night premium of £2.30 per hour for hours worked between midnight and 6am. Additional payments may apply depending on location.
We offer a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, with opportunities to work fewer hours (to a minimum of 12).
The table shows the periods of time in the week we’d like you to be available to work – the availability windows. We will schedule your contracted hours within these times, and you’ll have 3 weeks’ notice of exactly when your shifts will be. We are happy to support flexibility for our colleagues.
Customers are at the heart of everything we do. As a Shift Leader, you will support the team and ensure smooth store operations while facing interesting challenges to improve service for customers, colleagues, and communities.
As a Shift Leader you’ll:
* Work in a fast-paced retail environment.
* Take ownership of running duty shifts, coordinating the team to deliver a clean, well-stocked store.
* Be there for customers, listening and helping them.
* Look for ways to improve service, including coaching colleagues.
* Guide and support colleagues, ensuring a safe working environment.
* Maintain understanding of store performance and assist managers in improving operations.
* Lead by example in all aspects of work.

You will be responsible for
* Coordinating the store team for a great shopping experience.
* Supporting colleagues in delivering daily priorities.
* Opening and closing the store safely.
* Being the go-to person for colleagues in the absence of a manager.
* Maintaining a clean and tidy store.
* Supporting managers in coordinating events.
* Contributing to an inclusive team atmosphere.
* Providing great customer service.
* Keeping the team informed on communications.
* Staying knowledgeable about store performance.
* Coordinating store improvements.
* Following health and safety procedures.
* Recognising colleagues providing great service.
