Position Summary:
To support the Leeds Office Partner in Fairhurst’s business operations in the region and beyond. The key focus is to bring additional leadership, energy and vigor into the business assisting in development of new and existing clients while increasing profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide guidance and support to team members, promoting a culture of collaboration, professional development and excellence in project delivery.
* Work closely with the Office Partner to target sustained growth & profitability, developing actionable plans to achieve these goals.
* Focus on driving business growth and market penetration in the region, identifying opportunities for expansion and improvement.
* Undertake effective networking to develop strategic partnerships that enhance Fairhurst’s market presence and service offerings.
* Access potential clients and instill confidence in Fairhurst capabilities, showcasing the company’s expertise and commitment to delivering high-quality engineering solutions.
* Foster and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, ensuring their needs are met whilst seeking opportunities for repeat business and referrals.
* Conduct market analysis to identify trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities, adapting strategies accordingly.
* Monitor business performance metrics and project outcomes to ensure targets are met, implementing corrective actions as necessary to optimise results.
* Champion Fairhurst’s core values and ethos throughout the company, ensuring they are reflected in all interactions with clients and stakeholders.
* Attend client and project meetings on behalf of the business, representing Fairhurst’s interests and maintaining strong client relationships.
* Assist in the financial management of the office, with direct responsibility for controlling project activities and ensuring alignment with budget targets for revenue and profit
* Ensure projects are delivered using Fairhurst’s Quality and Environmental Management System (QEMS) and Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS) policies.
* Support recruitment activities to enable team growth, helping to build a skilled and motivated workforce.
Qualifications & Experience
* Have a proven leadership track record in a recognised engineering consultancy.
* Possess the gravitas, stature and maturity to build teams, motivate, and provide direction for high performance.
* Hold a relevant construction-related degree qualification.
* Be a Chartered Engineer (Civil/Structural preferred).
* Have proven business development and client relationship building skills.
* Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
* Exhibit excellent written and oral communication skills.
* Possess a very high level of commercial and business acumen.
* Have a good knowledge of construction contracts and professional agreements, with experience in negotiating fee agreements.
* Have excellent knowledge of standard engineering practices, techniques and procedures.
* Demonstrate excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Exhibit strong organisational and time management skills.
* Uphold high integrity and strong work ethics.
