EMBS Engineering is currently recruiting for a Process Assembly Engineer to join a precision engineering company located in Tamworth, working on a permanent basis.

Role Involvement:
This role drives innovation and supports manufacturing by ensuring efficient processes, adherence to company procedures, and achievement of KPI targets for Quality, Cost, and Delivery. Key responsibilities include resolving production constraints, maintaining 5S standards, optimising designs for manufacturing (DFMA), implementing assembly processes, and driving continuous improvement. It involves process documentation, tooling design, problem-solving and compliance with quality and safety standards (IATF 16949, ISO 9001 & ISO 14001). Additionally, the role includes training staff, supporting projects, and recommending improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety.
Successful applicants must be able to demonstrate:
1. Strong Manufacturing or Production Engineering background
2. Experience within an Assembly environment with either automated or semi-automated production lines, within precision engineering companies
3. Background from a Tier 1 or OEM within manufacturing sectors including; Automotive, Motorsport, Aerospace, White Goods, Agriculture etc.
4. Experience of working with 3D CAD packages; Solidworks, AutoCAD etc
5. Knowledge and experience of using assembly presses, pneumatics, hydraulics, CNC machines, torque equipment, bolting stations etc
6. Experience in PFMEAs, DFMEAs, PPAPs, APQPs etc
7. Experience of implementing Continuous Improvement Techniques and Lean Manufacturing Methodologies
8. Ideally, some experience with electrical control systems, including PLCs.
9. Ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics
10. Proficiency in understanding Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID)
11. A strong focus on error-proofing (poka-yoke) in assembly processes
