Location: Little HQ (NW10) - Park Royal, London
Hours: Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week.
The Role:
To help us pioneer a revolution in frozen and chilled sweet treats, we’re looking for a dynamic Senior Product Developer to join our Innovation & Sustainability team. This role will be responsible for supporting the delivery of the innovation pipeline, by developing new, original ideas and taking them from concept through to launch, working closely with the Head of Product Development.
The perfect candidate will be a creative individual, developing their experience in delivering great tasting products to market. They will be passionate about taste and motivated by the challenge of making their creations fit for market by balancing commercial, technical, and manufacturing requirements. They will have a solid understanding of critical path management, aware of what’s required to deliver a brief in full and on time, as well as have the scientific technical know-how to tackle recipe and process challenges that may occur along the way.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead & support the product development of innovation projects/new range launches alongside the renovation of our existing range.
* Lead with science; use food science to develop products, solve problems and challenge industry norms.
* Understand our products & processes; know the functionality of the ingredients used, ensure recipes are fit for purpose and understand the critical parameters to scale product innovations from kitchen to factory.
* Support feasibility assessments (trials) within projects, proactively flag risks which could hinder the delivery of solutions that meet brand, consumer, technical, operational, and commercial requirements.
* Engage in collaborative supplier relationships to ensure the best innovations are brought to our business and utilized effectively in product development.
* Keep on the pulse of what’s new, relevant, and emerging in both the food industry and macro food environment, using trends to design inspiring product solutions in answer to project briefs.
* Contribute to the business’ Sustainability strategy by delivering your Brighter Future Sustainability objectives.
Required Experience:
* Product Development experience in a food manufacturing environment (experience with ice cream preferred).
* Experience of delivering successful innovation to market.
* BSc degree, preferably in either food science, technology or nutrition.
* Strong analytical skills.
* Solid project management skills.
* Flair for food and innovation.
* Experience working within brand guidelines.
* Understanding of HACCP and site technical standards.
* Excited about the prospect of working in an agile and entrepreneurial scaling business.
