In a nutshell
Are you a senior manager or director with significant experience of trust taxation who is looking for a new challenge in a firm that supports your development?
Heading up our Trust tax team, you’ll help us to provide a first-class tax compliance and advisory service to our personal tax clients.
What you'll be doing day to day
1. Ensure compliance with legislative and ethical standards within the Trust team
2. Resolve client issues efficiently, meeting timescales and budgets
3. Lead and develop a team of advisors
4. Liaise with trustees, beneficiaries, individuals, and intermediaries to provide top-tier service
5. Act as principal on a portfolio of trust and high-net-worth clients, reviewing and signing off advice
6. Review and advise on trust accounts
7. Play an active role in marketing and business development for trust services
8. Support team growth and expansion of the trust business
9. Upskill colleagues in other departments to manage risk and identify opportunities
10. Meet with clients to assess and advise on tax planning, overseeing delivery by team members
11. Work with Private Client tax partners to identify key opportunities and risks
12. Promote firm-wide services, especially financial planning
13. Ensure work is allocated effectively and departmental targets are met
14. Assist in the running of the trust corporation
About you
15. Previous experience in similar role
16. ATT or CTA qualified (or equivalent) with up-to-date technical knowledge (STEP qualification is desirable)
17. The ability to lead a team and inspire them to become the best advisors they can
18. Highly motivated with the ability to engage with clients with significant levels of wealth and with colleagues at all levels
19. Organised and able to plan time efficiently in order to meet deadlines
20. Demonstrates a creative approach to problem solving with a strong desire to succeed
