This is a unique and exciting opportunity to join the Major Sporting Projects Delivery Directorate, in a varied role supporting the delivery of high profile programmes that are critical to our Ministers’ mission-led priorities. The post-holder will play a key role managing the corporate functions of the directorate - including coordinating recruitment campaigns, budget management and programme and stakeholder management. Key responsibilities include:
* Workforce planning: Ensure the directorate is resourced effectively, by working with HR and the team to manage recruitment campaigns and support onboarding.
* Coordinating Stakeholder Engagement - Coordinate elements of stakeholder engagement. This may include arranging and secretariating key meetings, and coordinating the preparation of background papers and briefing notes.
* Programme Management: Support key elements of programme delivery across the directorate’s range of programmes. This may include helping to ensure the directorate takes a robust approach to financial management, facilitating governance and assurance processes to ensure successful programme delivery, and working with programme teams to identify and manage key risks, issues and opportunities.
* Coordinating Commissions and Correspondence: Liaise with key colleagues across the directorate to ensure prompt and efficient responses to key correspondence and central commissions, including short notice requests.
* Oversight of directorate processes and corporate queries: Oversee Directorate-wide processes, including risk management, in year rewards and business continuity. Act as the first point of contact for corporate queries for all team members.

Person specification
The ideal candidate would have the following key skills and experiences:
Essential Criteria:
* Strong organisational skills, and the ability to manage your own workload, prioritise and meet tight deadlines including in diary and information management
* Basic knowledge of Programme & Project Management techniques
* Ability to work flexibly and overcome challenges, often under time pressure
* Good written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate professionally and effectively with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels, and to develop appropriate, tailored communications
* Good numeracy skills including the ability to handle and interpret data and attention to detail
Desirable skills:
* Previous experience within executive assistant / business support roles
