Job Description
Role: Security Officer (Full Time)
Hours: 56 hours per week
On a 3 days/4 nights/ 3 off + 4 days/3 nights/4 off shift pattern.
£13.00 p/hr
As a Security Officer, you will bring a diverse set of skills and attributes that are crucial for maintaining a secure and efficient environment. Your role will require a blend of vigilance, integrity, and helpfulness. Here are the key competencies that will make you successful in this role:
* Patrolling Expertise: Ability to conduct thorough internal and external patrols, ensuring the security and integrity of the perimeter and site buildings, regardless of weather conditions.
* Access Control: Proficiency in managing access and egress at multiple control points, vehicle barriers, and reception stations, maintaining high security standards through identification checks and visitor management.
* Emergency Response: Capability to execute musters, evacuations, and other critical roles during emergencies, demonstrating readiness and composure.
* Search Procedures: Skill in performing detailed searches of vehicles and bags to uphold security measures and client requirements.
* Customer Service: Excellence in providing outstanding customer service, handling situations with politeness, tact, and discretion in a customer-facing environment.
* Appearance and Presentation: Commitment to maintaining a professional appearance in line with Securitas' uniform and appearance policy, ensuring reliability and punctuality.
* Reporting and Documentation: Accuracy in reporting and recording faults, health and safety hazards, and unsafe practices, completing paperwork legibly.
* Deterrence and Presence: Ability to offer a visible and proactive security presence, deterring unauthorised access and managing traffic flow effectively.
* Classified Information Security: Diligence in safeguarding classified information and materials through patrols and car searches.
* Control Room Operations: Efficiency in operating control room, gatehouse, and reception systems, ensuring seamless security operations.
Qualifications
* Current SIA licence
* Have a full 5 year checkable work history
* Ability to obtain National Security Clearance (SC) and BS7858 screening
* Competent in MS Word, Excel and E-Mail (Outlook)
* Well-developed interpersonal and influencing skills. Able to negotiate and deal with sensitive and confidential matters with tact and discretion
* Adaptable and responsive in the face of changes in priorities, plans and schedule
