Your typical day could start with analysing payroll data using People XD analytics tools to provide key insights for the business. Later, you might collaborate with Finance Business Partners to reconcile payroll and pension costs, ensuring costs they are accurately allocated in line with budget. In the afternoon, you could be assisting with compliance checks for National Living Wage adjustments or reviewing expense claims to ensure they meet company policy requirements.
As a Payroll Analyst, you’ll be an essential part of our payroll team, ensuring the smooth operation of a high-quality payroll service for over 4000 employees. With a focus on data accuracy, compliance, and process improvement, you will provide vital support to ensure employees are paid correctly and on time, while helping the business make informed decisions through robust payroll analytics.
This hybrid role offers flexibility, with 2-3 days per week at Pembroke House in Basildon and monthly visits to our London HQ. You’ll work closely with colleagues across the business to solve problems, enhance processes, and support system enhancements.
Your responsibilities will include generating accurate and detailed payroll reports using People XD analytics tools, reconciling payroll journals with the Finance system, and supporting compliance processes such as National Living Wage checks and year-end updates. You’ll oversee the online expenses process and support the reconciliation of employee benefits and preparation of statutory documentation like P11d(b) and PAYE Settlement Agreements, while contributing to continuous improvement by driving payroll-related projects and system upgrades. Collaboration with Finance and HR teams will be key to delivering a seamless and compliant payroll service.
To be successful in this role, you’re:
* Experienced in payroll data analysis and full-cycle payroll processing, with a strong understanding of payroll legislation.
* Skilled in report writing and data management, with advanced proficiency in Excel.
* Customer-focused, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
* Knowledgeable about payroll accounting and GDPR compliance.
