Do you have a passion for supporting older adults and ensuring their safety and well-being overnight? We are looking for a compassionate and responsible Night Warden to join our team at Jewish Care.
This post is working 5 out of 7 days on a 3 week rolling rota (60 hours), 12.5 hour shifts from 8pm to 8.30am, including some weekends.
* Week 1: 3 shifts per week.
* Week 2: 0 shifts per week
* Week 3: 2 shifts per week
Overtime is available.
About the Role
As a Night Warden, you will provide overnight support, security, and peace of mind to tenants living in our independent sheltered housing. You will ensure the building remains safe, respond to emergencies, and provide a reassuring presence throughout the night.
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Checking on tenants’ well-being and responding to calls for assistance
* Acting as the first point of contact in case of emergencies, including fire alarms and medical incidents
* Ensuring security and safety of the building, including locking communal areas and monitoring access
* Recording and reporting incidents, building issues, and tenant concerns
* Supporting tenants with any minor issues while promoting their independence
What We’re Looking For:
* Experience in lone working, security, or a care-related role
* Knowledge of health & safety procedures, emergency response, and risk assessment
* Compassionate, calm under pressure, and able to handle sensitive situations professionally
* Basic IT and record-keeping skills
* Health & Social Care Level 2 qualification (or willingness to work towards it)
