As a Trading Analyst, you will:
1. Provide effective data interrogation of category performance to ensure it is continuously focused on driving performance within each trading category and to spot internal and external market trends.
2. Create all weekly and periodic reporting and insight and identify opportunities to drive continuous improvements and trends.
3. Communicate key trends and insights with the Trading team and food senior team.
4. Define best practice from external research.
5. Define future to be requirements and agree with stakeholders and 3rd parties.
6. Create future analytics, insight and reporting using Power BI, Excel.
7. Report feedback from customers to drive continuous improvement and ensure we add value.
8. Conduct reviews of categories creating insight into trends and trading performance.
9. Identify/investigate trading performance via additional information/sources.
10. Identify compliance and non-compliance investigation/escalation checks and reviews.
11. Create all current reports and analysis to the Leadership Team and wider loss prevention team.
12. Provide support to the wider Food Retail central teams as and when required.
Who are we looking for?
To be successful in this role you will need:
1. Demonstrable experience of working in a similar role, with the ability to manage and analyse large volumes of data preferably in a retail environment.
2. High level of knowledge and experience of tools, techniques and strategies used to identify Trading performance and opportunities.
3. Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
4. Excellent people and communication skills, both written and verbal; Able to use data insight to tell a story and influence decision making.
5. Build internal and external relationships with key stakeholders and have strong negotiation and influencing skills.
6. Dynamic and self-motivated, with a positive, can-do attitude, able to work independently with minimal or no supervision.
7. Able to deliver to a high standard within deadlines.
8. Flexibility to work occasional overtime or evenings when required (desirable).
9. Experience in creating actionable data and actionable insights (desirable).
10. Experienced in Excel, Power BI, data analytics and reporting (desirable).
