Southern Water is seeking a number of Business Analysts to join the Programme Delivery Team at Southern Water, building on the capabilities of our existing team and setting us up to deliver on an exciting and transformative programme of change. This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned professional to collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence key business decisions. As a Business Analyst, you will be gathering and understanding the business needs of the organisation within specific projects and operational improvement initiatives within their business domain. You will work with Project Managers, Senior Business Analysts, Business Partner Managers, IT/business teams and other business analysts, to capture requirements and accurately translate into solutions and system implementations as well as optimising business processes. Your responsibilities are to include: Devise, own and lead the analysis approach to projects, specifying the methods and techniques most appropriate to the situation at hand. Delivery of business analysis artifacts throughout the lifecycle of the project or programme Develop and maintain strong relationships with all key stakeholders. Work with project managers to define business analysis products and to plan the delivery of the business analysis components of projects. Develop BA artefacts according to standard templates, using natural and clear language. Analyse business processes within the company and recommend projects to improve the effectiveness of those processes. Assist the business in the production and evaluation of business cases to underpin business projects. Assist in creating/reviewing test artefacts and in supporting testing of IT solutions. Skills and experience needed: Relevant Business Analysis qualification e.g. BCS Business Analysis Diploma or CCBA/CBAP certified. Demonstrable experience in business analysis; applying business analysis tools / method / techniques across a range of projects and programmes. Knowledge of multiple business analysis methodologies. Experience of successful business process re-design, analysis, definition and documentation including standard modelling notation – e.g. BPMN, EPC, UML. Expertise in applying business process improvement within complex environments. Strong analytical skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements. Experience in waterfall and agile/iterative development approaches. Experience in maintaining standards and process. Strong ability to see the end-to-end customer journey and understand the technical interlinking of components.
