We are looking for a passionate, talented Software Development Engineer who can drive key engineering and business decisions that impact Amazon's long-term vision, including innovation in the delivery of linear and on-demand entertainment. In this development role, you will have an enormous opportunity to make a large impact on the design, architecture, and implementation of state-of-the-art products used every day, by people you know.
As a Software Development Engineer in the team, you will build Android-based components and APIs that power seamless partner integration with our Live TV services. You will incorporate the latest automation frameworks to scale your contributions across Fire TV's entire product lineup.
Key job responsibilities
1. Lead the development of innovative features, components, and services used by internal teams and external partners.
2. Develop and maintain Live Middleware functionality and APIs, as well as automated testing frameworks.
3. Deliver high-quality software through working in a diverse, team-focused Agile/Scrum environment.
4. Instill best practices for software development and documentation, assure designs meet requirements, and deliver quality work.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
1. Experience (non-internship) in professional software development.
2. Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design.
3. Experience in Android Development.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
2. Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
3. Experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
