Come and join our People team; we are recruiting for a People Services Assistant. You will roll your sleeves up and get stuck into providing an all-round HR support service to the wider business and the people team.
The role will offer you lots of variety as no day will be the same, with many opportunities to develop your payroll, HR process, and system knowledge. There will be opportunities to change the way we do things and take the lead on process improvement projects.
You will play a key role in coordinating and maintaining accurate employee records, supporting the recruitment and onboarding of new hires, maintaining the HR system, monthly payroll, and providing first-line advice and guidance to colleagues and managers. Key accountabilities will include:
* Managing the full onboarding process for new starters within SLA and payroll deadlines, ensuring right to work in the UK documentation is accurate, issuing offers via DocuSign, and undertaking all onboarding activities efficiently.
* Completing all People Services administration activities related to contracts of employment including appointments, terminations, variations of contractual terms, rewards, and retirement.
* Creating new starter and maintaining employee electronic records in line with GDPR.
* Supporting the running of monthly/period HR statistics reporting to provide analysis to the HR team on wider business areas – sickness, absence, leavers.
* Managing the offboarding process for all leavers while working within monthly payroll deadlines.
* Providing first-line HR advice and guidance on queries and escalating if required to the People Manager or People Business Partners.
* Managing and responding to day-to-day queries in the people & recruitment inbox.
* Supporting and taking the lead on process improvement projects.
* Administering & maintaining medical records on cascade including pre-employment, periodic health surveillance & medication checks.
* Assisting with recruitment - advertising, shortlisting, scheduling interviews, and assessment days.
What you’ll bring:
* CIPD or working towards the qualification (desirable).
* Previous experience in an HR or Payroll administrator role.
* Proficient in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite such as Outlook, Word, and Excel.
* Knowledge of payroll (desirable).
* Flexible approach and able to adapt to meet the needs of the business.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Knowledge of GDPR principles.
