Cardiff Council is delivering a large scale and exciting new build housing programme in partnership with Lovells Homes. Several projects have already been successfully identified, with more phases of this programme in the pipeline on sites owned by the Council. We are therefore seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead project teams and help support the continual delivery of our award-winning programme. You will take forward key development opportunities from inception through to planning, and from contractual commencement of works through to handover.
About the job
The post holder will be responsible for the development and delivery of our projects at a pre-development stage and throughout to final handover. Reviewing site opportunities & constraints from the initial design stage through to planning. You will work alongside the partner contractor to appoint a team of consultants and co-ordinate the work of lead officers to ensure projects are developed and delivered to the correct standards (including the Welsh Development Quality Requirements 2021). Working within designated timescales and budgets, you will ensure that we continue to deliver new homes at scale and pace, and to the challenging low/zero carbon standards expected of all new homes now and in the future.
What We Are Looking For From You
The successful candidate will be an experienced project manager in social housing delivery. You will possess a strong track record of managing capital projects and have the right knowledge and expertise to successfully deliver these projects through to planning and completion. You will understand and consider financial issues, ensuring that projects are viable. You will have the vision to identify future opportunities for the development programme and the ability to plan strategically for the needs of the service.
