Contract Type: Permanent Hours: Full Time 37 hours per week - it is essential that the you are flexible to work some unsociable hours, weekends and Bank Holidays Location of post: Gnoll Estate Country Park, Fairyland Road, Neath, SA11 3BS We are currently looking for a Ranger to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in themanagement, upkeep and operation of Gnoll Country Park, Gnoll Park Visitors Centre, and other countryside sites. The main duties of the post; Assist with the day-to-day management and upkeep of countryside sites, habitat management, footpath and cycle path management and structures including play equipment. To ensure the safety of visitors to countryside sites and provide a first aid service, when required, and liaising with emergency services. To provide visitor information service, including guided walks and talks. Assisting with the supervision of other staff, volunteers, trainees and work placement students working on countryside sites. Assist in organising and running of special events. Ensure compliance with relevant bylaws. Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation. Cash Collection from Pay & Display machines. Any other duties and responsibilities commensurate with the grade and designation of the post, as may be directed from time to time by his/her line Manager. You will have experience in/of; Experience of general grounds maintenance Dealing with members of the public Knowledge of Health and Safety priorities relevant to the role Ideally you will have; Experience of playground work/inspections First aid Experience Current Driving Licence Current tickets in relevant machinery/equipment used in a Country Park environment be self-motivated and capable of working alone with minimum supervision. Gnoll Country Park is currently undergoing transformational change with £12M investment into new facilities and services and restoration of heritage features, with plans to develop the venue further.
