Specialist utilities organisation, enjoying a sustained period of growth, requires a Resident Engineer, on either a contract or permanent basis. The primary purpose of the role is to make sure works are carried out in line with client requirements and contract. HV cable projects. Job Outline: Ensure works are completed to the highest standards Make sure any minor faults are corrected Make sure works comply with client requirements, regulations and legislation governing the industry Ensure that materials used are as per those outlined in contract Any changes or alterations (such as design modifications and variations) must be agreed with client's management team Be responsible for site diary and recording of works progress, including photographs Complete weekly report Highlight any non-conformances and report any issues related to contractor performance Monitor and sign-off site activities Liaise with client and site teams, attend site coordination meetings Ensure adherence to health and safety, drawing attention to any failings Agree the quality standards with site and client teams and partake in benchmarking reviews Take part in audits of works carried out, as well as site walks to check on work progress and quality Meet with client every week Monitor as-built drawings and records, check designs and drawings Take part in review of project once completed, with a view to find future improvements Experience and Qualifications: Previous experience as a Resident Engineer or Section Engineer, ideally in the HV or civil engineering sectors - previous experience of HV cabling projects a bonus Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering dicsipline Excellent communications skills, self-motivated, problem solver, attention to detail, organised, computer literate This is a great opportunity to join a successful company that is rapidly growing, has prestigious projects to deliver and enjoys an excellent reputation in the industry.
