Deputy Manager, 40 Hours Per Week
Salary: £28,080 per annum
This role will be based at Just Imagine Day Nursery Colchester until October 2025 due to maternity leave. After this, there will be opportunities for placement at either this location or another nearby setting.
Due to internal progression, Just Imagine Day Nursery Colchester is seeking a Deputy Manager to join the team. This role is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned room leader or third in charge ready to advance into a Deputy Manager position, or for an experienced Deputy Manager looking for a new challenge. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Nursery Manager to oversee daily operations and maintain the quality of the setting. You'll be responsible for ensuring high-quality activities and providing outstanding care for the children. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to making a positive impact every day.

Our nursery is open from 7:00 am - 6:00 pm and we would require you to be able to work varied shift patterns between those times.
Within this role, you will:
* Ensure the safety and wellbeing of every child, staff, parent, and visitor at all times.
* Understand and ensure that the requirements of the statutory framework for the EYFS are met throughout the nursery.
* Assist in managing the acceptance and administration of medication and ensure care plans are thorough and up to date for children or staff with health conditions.
* Ensure that all children receive stimulating and purposeful experiences, environments, and resources that are appropriate to their age and stage of development.
* Promote respect and credibility for this position through effective communication skills, impartiality, and consistency.
* Inspire the staff team with creative ideas and new challenges with the aim to achieve outstanding practice.
* Maintain accurate records and accounts relating to children and staff on the EyMan system and on file.
* Undertake any other duties to ensure the smooth running of the nursery and safety and wellbeing of children, staff, and families.

For this role, you will need:
* Full and relevant Level 3 in Childcare qualification - Essential
* Leadership experience - Essential
* Over 1 year of experience of working in Early Years - Essential
* Sound knowledge of the statutory framework for the EYFS and regulatory requirements - Essential
* Over 1 year of experience of working in a management position - Desirable.
* Level 5 qualification in Childcare and/or Management and Leadership - Desirable
* Experience of successfully passing an Ofsted inspection to good or outstanding - Desirable
