10 Dock Senior Project Engineer WRB
The Major Infrastructure Projects directorate provides major new or upgraded dock, berth, and building infrastructure projects to support the ship and submarine sustainment programmes. As a Senior Project Engineer, you will be working within the Water Retaining Boundary team, helping to manage the lead design consultant for a critical civils design package.
Using your experience in facility upgrade or infrastructure projects, you will manage the delivery of heavy civils infrastructure designs and collaborate with users and other stakeholders to ensure that the integrated facility is delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards for the sustainment capability. You will apply your project management expertise to ensure that the design meets the technical and operational requirements of the facility.

Main Purpose of Role
The purpose of a Senior Project Engineer is to ensure effective design and project management of sub-packages within the WRB package. Key responsibilities include:
* Supporting the Package Manager responsible for the delivery of multiple sub-packages.
* Working closely with the technical team to ensure deliverables meet stringent quality criteria by leading sub-packages through governance processes.
* Collaborating with schedule, commercial, cost, and risk management functions to ensure that design packages are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality parameters.
* Assisting the technical and project team in the development of requirements, project scope, and solutions for specific work packages.
* Translating supply chain reporting into usable data to inform planning, monitoring, and control of work packages.
* Managing input to cost and budget monitoring.
* Document and deliverable management.
* Managing the risk process, including identification, assessment, planning, and implementation of risks, opportunities, and issues.
* Assisting with administering the NEC contract using CEMAR.
Additional Information
The role will require frequent travel to design consultants' offices UK-wide and frequent visits to Devonport to engage with the construction delivery team.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Experience, and Competences
The candidate must have experience in project or design management, ideally within infrastructure delivery. Experience managing and administering an NEC4 contract is preferable. The project is located on a Nuclear Licensed site; therefore, experience in the delivery of nuclear safety-implicated structures, equipment, or services would be desirable.
Qualifications
The candidate must hold a bachelor's or master's degree, ideally in a STEM subject area. It is desirable that the candidate holds the following qualifications:
* APM project management qualification (or equivalent).
* NEC4 Project Manager Accreditation.
