JK Developments Ltd is a high-end domestic building company looking for an experienced Bricklayer to join our team. You will be working on residential and commercial projects including extensions, new builds, and general refurbishments.
Working Schedule: 8 hours shift from Monday to Friday. This role may sometimes include weekends to ensure we provide our clients with the highest possible levels of service.
Work Location: London and Essex. You may be asked to work in any of these locations.
Responsibilities:
1. Work on a variety of projects, from small renovations to larger construction projects.
2. Erect and repair brick, pre-cut stone, and concrete block structures such as walls, paving, and chimneys.
3. Apply or remove grout with a trowel.
4. Strengthen and seal foundations with appropriate materials, usually damp-resistant materials.
5. Repair building blocks and chimneys, refurbish decorative stonework.
6. Measure skills before laying bricks.
7. Understand and manage the quantities of material required for the job.
8. Use tools such as hand tools, brick-cutting machines, spirit levels, and plumb lines to check building alignment.
We are looking for someone who is reliable, hardworking, and has a positive attitude.
What You Will Need to Have:
1. At least one year of experience (Essential).
2. NVQ or City & Guild qualifications (Desired but not essential if you have good skills and experience).
3. Skills in bricklaying (Essential).
4. Strong experience in new builds, extensions & general construction including lofts and driveways (Essential).
5. Ability to read from architectural drawings (Essential).
6. Full UK Driving licence (Desired).
7. Willing to drive a van (Desired).
8. Must be willing to travel up to an hour a day (Essential).
9. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written (Essential).
10. Confident working in a team, approachable and friendly to colleagues and clients (Essential).

13. Ability to work under pressure and in all weather (Essential).
