Higher Level Teaching Assistant SEN School ASAP Start Role: Higher Level Teaching Assistant Location: Brent Pay: £110 - £120 per day (depending on experience) Hours: Full Time, Long Term Contract (37.5 hours pw), Monday Friday, Term Time Start: ASAP We are a specialist school for children with Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) needs, catering for both Key Stage 1 and 2, providing a nurturing environment that supports each childs unique journey. We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our supportive team. In this role, you will work closely with class teachers, therapists, and parents to deliver personalized support, enhance learning experiences, and foster students social and emotional growth. Higher Level Teaching Assistant - Key Responsibilities: Support class teachers by managing learning activities and providing behavioural support. Lead teaching sessions as needed, including during teacher absence or CPD/PPA cover. Collaborate with therapists to implement and follow Individual Pupil Support Plans (e.g., EHC plans). Apply effective behaviour management strategies and provide one-on-one support to address individual needs. Ensure a safe and secure learning environment, responding to emergencies and providing First Aid (training provided) Higher Level Teaching Assistant - Candidate Requirements: Must have relevant experience working with children with SEMH needs. Previous experience as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant is highly desirable. Qualified to plan and deliver learning activities and resources. Ability to contribute effectively to behaviour management and support strategies. Commitment to safeguarding and promoting childrens welfare.
