Assistant Head of Operations | 23 Months (Outside IR35)| Office based (Edinburgh)
Day Rate - £258.16
Harvey Nash's Client is recruiting for an Assistant Head of Operations. This position is a key management role within the client's team and requires a positive and collaborative approach to multi-disciplinary team working within a legal framework. The role demands excellent internal and external relationships, flexibility, adaptability, initiative, good judgement, sensitivity, confidentiality, and a high degree of personal resilience.
Main Duties:
* Responsible for the delivery of operational services across all areas of the client, including facilities management, health and safety, and business continuity.
* Support the efficient and effective running of public hearings, seeking and following legal guidance where required.
* Engage with Heads of Business Areas, ensuring a consistent approach to the development of operational policies and procedures.
* Contribute to high-level meetings with the client's Executive Team as a subject matter expert in operational areas such as Hard and Soft Facilities Management and the operations of Hearings.
* Lead contractor and supplier review meetings to manage service quality and contract compliance.
* Work with the 'Head of' business area and the lead of the Policies & Procedures Review Group (PPRG) to ensure the creation, development, and review of all relevant policies and procedures in line with client's standards.
Leadership & Management
You will:
* Lead a team of staff of varying grades, having day-to-day responsibility for their performance, wellbeing, and development.
* Promote the client's trauma-informed approach, developing and maintaining team resilience through supervision and support.
* Provide timely status reports to the Head of Records, IT, Operations, Finance, Business Services, and Projects on workloads and progress against targets.
* Be accountable for facilities management and health and safety obligations, ensuring a safe, secure, and comfortable working environment.
Essential Skills
* Degree/HND or equivalent in relevant Operations Management course and/or significant relevant work experience at management level.
* Sound working knowledge and experience of Hard and Soft Facilities Management.
* Proven ability to plan, prioritise, manage competing demands, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* Ability to interrogate analytical and management information and provide concise, evidence-based information for review.
* IT Literate, with strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
* Established team player with experience managing relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to confidently present in various settings.
* Meticulous attention to detail.
* High degree of self-awareness and personal resilience.
* Understanding of a trauma-informed approach.
