My name is Lina and I am the Clinical Trials Pharmacy Technician Team Manager for the Clinical Trials team in Oxford.
I manage and support our technical team of Technicians, Practitioners, Assistants, and Apprentices as we provide support services to our clinical trial research teams across Oxfordshire.
The Clinical Trials Pharmacy consists of Pharmacists, Technicians, Practitioners, Assistants, and Apprentices. We work closely with research teams across the trust and external representatives.

Main duties of the job
As a Senior Clinical Trials Pharmacy Technician, you will:
1. Maintain the supply chain of Clinical Trial medications to research nurses.
2. Maintain financial records and complete drug accountability activities.
3. Close down and archive completed studies.
4. Facilitate meetings from sponsors.
A successful candidate should possess:
* Relevant Pharmacy Technician qualification and registration with GPHC (B4 and B5)
* Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician accreditation (B5 only)

Job responsibilities
Your core role in Clinical Trials Pharmacy would include:
1. Obtaining and maintaining Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training.
2. Applying principles of GCP in managing clinical trials.
3. Communicating with Investigators, Research Nurses, Trust R&D, Sponsors, Clinical Research Associates, and Pharmacy staff during the set-up and running of a clinical trial.
4. Ensuring clinical trial protocols and SOPs are followed.
5. Ordering and receiving clinical trial drugs.
6. Maintaining clinical trial files and ensuring proper documentation.
7. Participating in temperature monitoring of clinical trial stocks.
8. Assisting with the destruction of clinical trial medication.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent and registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
* Accredited Checking Technician or commitment to undertake the course.
* A1 Assessor's qualification or equivalent.
Experience
* At least 2 years' experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
* Previous experience of training/supervision of junior staff.
* Previous NHS experience.
* Clinical Trials experience.
* Previous aseptic experience.
Behavioural Skills
* Professional approach and experience of team working.
* Enthusiastic and responsible attitude towards work.
* Good organisational skills.
* Awareness of legislation and standards relating to Good Clinical Practice.
Technical Skills
* Computer literate with experience of Microsoft Office.
* Commitment to CPD and PDP as per GPhC requirements.
Personal skills
* Attention to detail.
* Ability to work alone and use initiative.
* Good interpersonal skills.
