The role involves working with schools to produce bespoke menus and meals, identifying children with allergies, and creating new and exciting menus that meet allergen requirements. The successful candidate will also design and deliver menus in accordance with government guidelines, ensuring all menus are fully allergen-checked and promote healthy eating.
Main Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement bespoke menus and meals for schools, taking into account children's allergies and dietary requirements.
* Work with schools to identify and address any food safety concerns, ensuring compliance with government guidelines.
* Train and develop kitchen staff's cookery skills, providing best practice training, demonstration, and advice.
* Manage accounts to ensure schools are cost-neutral, through auditing, waste reduction, and training for ordering.
* Ensure schools receive the correct produce, both product and quantity, as per the provision.
Desirable Skills:
* Ability to develop and empower others using a range of motivational skills.
* Previous culinary/catering experience (3+ years) in an educational setting.
* Experience of target setting and performance measurement.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Able to work effectively with colleagues from a range of backgrounds.
* Good IT skills, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
* CIEH Level 3 in Food Safety in Catering or equivalent.
