The Role:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will be required to support pupils with additional needs to promote their learning and development in a school setting. Your role will involve providing general classroom support while delivering high-quality interventions, whether in small groups or on a 1:1 basis. You must be able to handle high-pressure situations calmly and professionally while nurturing each pupil's needs. Resilience and the ability to de-escalate challenging behavior are essential. Qualifications such as GCSE or A-Level or equivalent are desirable but not required, while qualifications relevant to the job, such as Healthcare certificates or Teaching Assistant qualifications, are also desirable but not required.
The School:
Teaching Personnel is recruiting for a variety of provisions across Lancashire, including primary, secondary, SEN, and SEMH schools. Class sizes are usually small, with 6-10 pupils per class. All children have an EHCP and have additional needs that require further support in their learning and overall development. The school aims to promote its pupils to become independent learners in an environment where all pupils' efforts and achievements can be celebrated. The school prioritizes communication and positive relationships, promoting close working relationships with children’s families.
Key Duties:
* Supporting students in their learning activities and personal development.
* Promoting each pupil's social and emotional well-being.
* Helping maintain a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment.
* Working closely with general classroom teachers to provide learning activities.
* Assisting with the implementation of EHCPs (Educational Health Care Plans).
* Supporting on days out and trips for the children.
* Providing personal care where needed.
Please note, we are an Education Supply agency, and all of our work starts off on a temporary basis, with a view to transitioning to a permanent school contract!

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
