Key Responsibilities
As a Technician Apprentice, your duties will include:
Prototype & Production Support:
* Assist in the assembly and testing of new electronic thermal control products.
* Support the development of prototypes under the supervision of engineers, contributing to the design and build of new product prototypes.
* Assist with the assembly of thermoelectric devices and other components used in thermal management systems.
* Work with engineers to help identify and resolve assembly issues during prototype builds.
Electronic and Mechanical Assembly:
* Participate in the assembly and testing of printed circuit boards (PCBs) and other key electronic components.
* Learn to operate the surface mount assembly line for efficient production of electronic devices.
* Help with the assembly of mechanical components and assist in integrating these into finished products.
Continuous Improvement:
* Support efforts to improve assembly processes, identify inefficiencies, and suggest improvements in workflow and quality control.
* Work closely with the team to refine and optimise assembly techniques to meet customer and product specifications.
General Workshop Support:
* Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of the workshop and warehouse areas.
* Participate in warehouse activities, including inventory management, parts organisation, and supply preparation.
* Perform routine equipment maintenance and assist with the calibration of machinery and tools.
Training & Development:
* Enrol and attend college regularly for a suitable Level II/III Engineering Apprenticeship.
* Take part in additional training as required to develop both technical and soft skills relevant to the role.
* Work closely with senior technicians and engineers to expand your knowledge and experience in electronics and mechanical assembly.
Health & Safety:
* Ensure all work activities are carried out safely and responsibly, following company health and safety policies.
* Take an active role in promoting a safe working environment and adhering to best practices in assembly and workshop safety.
