This is an exciting opportunity to join the expanding Education Key Worker team.
The aim of the Education Key Worker Team is to provide focused support for individual children who are finding it hard to attend school. The team seeks to support the child, their family and the school through building relationships, identifying barriers to attendance and developing an intervention plan that empowers those involved to take positive action.
The ethos of the Education Key Worker service is to achieve positive and lasting improvements and outcomes for children and young people with SEN and additional needs across Devon.
The Education Key Worker team work alongside other agencies to ensure that the right services are available for children and young people and their families at the right time.

These posts may involve some flexible evening and weekend work.
This is the role: Education Key Worker
1. NJC Grade D - £24,702 to £26,421 depending on experience and qualifications.
2. Support children and young people who are struggling to attend school to progress back into school and continue their journey of lifelong learning.
3. Listen to and understand the child’s views about any barriers to attendance, working closely with them on an individual basis, both in their home and in school to overcome these difficulties.
4. Establish and maintain links with the child’s school and other agencies to enable reintegration, via a supported evidence-based intervention plan.
5. Work with a designated number of children and families, within a geographical area covering a cluster of schools. This will involve multidisciplinary working.
