Having a dedicated Director for the Centre is critical to driving its vision, strengthening research outputs, and ensuring strategic alignment with both the University’s research and knowledge exchange priorities and wider cultural sector needs. About the Post As a strong academic leader, the Director for the Centre will play a key role in securing external funding, developing interdisciplinary collaborations, and shaping impactful research and knowledge exchange activities. The Director will also be instrumental in building partnerships with cultural institutions, mentoring researchers, supporting PGR students, and advocating for the importance of culture and heritage regionally and nationally. By appointing a Director for Culture and Heritage, the University of Suffolk is strengthening its position as a key player in cultural and heritage research, ensuring that academic expertise translates into real-world impact. About You The Director for the Centre for Culture and Heritage at the University of Suffolk will provide strategic and academic leadership to advance research, knowledge exchange, and external engagement in culture, heritage, and interdisciplinary scholarship. This role will be pivotal in shaping the Centre’s research identity, securing external funding, and fostering collaborations with local, national, and international cultural and heritage institutions. The postholder will also be responsible for embedding research-led teaching, supervising PhD students, and enhancing public engagement with cultural and heritage research.
